The Medical Selection Admissions Test – Malaysia (MSAT–Malaysia) is a 2 hour and 40 minute-long online multiple-choice assessment.

The test is independently developed by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) to assist with the selection of students into medicine and health professions degree programmes.

Test Window: 24-27 February 2026

Registrations close: 12pm (MYT) 16 January 2026

Admission tickets available: by 17 February 2026

Results released: mid-April 2026

Test structure

Critical Reasoning

Comprehending and analysing information; understanding, applying, and extending ideas; drawing appropriate conclusions, and evaluating arguments. These questions use material from the humanities and social sciences.

Quantitative Reasoning

Analysis and application of information, drawing conclusions, making decisions, and solving problems. These questions use material from the mathematics and sciences.


Interpersonal Understanding

The ability to understand and think about people. These questions are based on a scenario, dialogue or other text representing specific interpersonal situations. They assess your ability to identify, understand, and, where necessary, infer the thoughts, feelings, behaviour and/or intentions of the people represented in the interpersonal situations.
