The MSAT-Malaysia test comprises 2 hours and 40 minutes of test time.

There are pre-testing procedures to complete before you can start. These will take anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes to complete depending on the number of other test takers in your test session.

You will be required to show your admission ticket and photo ID before you enter the test centre, so make sure you have them with you on the test day.

Important things to remember before the test

  • Register to sit the test before 5.00pm MYT, 16 January 2026.
  • Print out your MSAT-Malaysia admission ticket.
  • Make sure you have suitable valid ID.
  • Prepare your pens, pencils or erasable whiteboard.
  • Sit your test either in the morning or afternoon on 24 to 26 February or the morning of 27 February 2026.

What do I need to bring on test day?

To successfully complete your test, you will need:

  • A small erasable whiteboard and pen or markers (no bigger than 30cm x 20cm) or 2 pens or pencils, eraser, and a sharpener.
  • An acceptable current and photo-bearing identification document.
  • A clear water bottle (no labels attached).
  • Disposable earplugs (optional).
  • Your admission ticket.

Computers or laptops will be supplied for all venues.

Clocks are provided in the test room. You may wear an analogue wristwatch; any alarm or stopwatch features must be switched off.

Prohibited items

There are certain items that are not allowed on your desk or near you during your test session, these are:

  • mobile phone
  • calculators
  • stopwatches
  • audio or recording devices of any kind, including:
    • cameras,
    • MP3 players,
    • digital, smart watches and Fitbits etc.
  • dictionaries
  • pencil cases and rulers
  • food
  • earplugs
  • bluetooth devices such as headphones
  • dual monitors
  • head coverings (unless for religious reasons).

Access to food (including sweets and nuts), earplugs, medication or other medical equipment (e.g. support cushion, sit/stand desk) requires special permission. If you think you will need any of these, you should apply for reasonable adjustments.
