To successfully complete your test, you will need:
Computers or laptops will be supplied for all venues.
Clocks are provided in the test room. You may wear an analogue wristwatch; any alarm or stopwatch features must be switched off.
There are certain items that are not allowed on your desk or near you during your test session, these are:
Access to food (including sweets and nuts), earplugs, medication or other medical equipment (e.g. support cushion, sit/stand desk) requires special permission. If you think you will need any of these, you should apply for reasonable adjustments.
MSAT-Ulster is a computer-based test, held on site at one of the Ulster University campuses. All necessary equipment including computers will be provided. You are not permitted to bring your own devices when sitting MSAT-Ulster.
Test takers whose first language is not English may bring a printed bilingual dictionary. The pages must be unmarked and any notes removed. Electronic dictionaries are not permitted.
Yes, if you are unable to find a suitable whiteboard you can bring a single A4 sheet of laminated paper instead, along with an erasable marker.
You must arrive at the time stated on your admission ticket. There is no need to arrive before the scheduled time. No test takers will be admitted into the test centre if they arrive late and the test has started.
You may not leave the test centre before the full testing time has elapsed, as you will disturb others around you. The only exception is in the case of illness with supervisor approval.
MSAT-Ulster is a high stakes test; the results of the test have the potential to make a major impact on the future study plans of the test taker. For this reason, ACER has established security procedures which will be strictly enforced at all times. Cheating or any breach of the test rules is viewed seriously and could attract penalties.
Misconduct (whether occurring prior to, during or after the MSAT-Ulster session) means any unacceptable conduct or any conduct that might result in unfairness or inaccurate results. See page 16 of the Information booklet for examples of misconduct.
